Repair Technician

Calling all Musical Instrument Repair Technicians! Guitar Center is now hiring Repair Technicians for our band and orchestra rental gear. If you have experience in repairing woodwinds, brass, and stringed instruments, this is a great opportunity! With our 4-day work schedule (Monday -- Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm) and our competitive pay, this is the job you have been looking for!

 

The Repair Shop Technician is responsible for repairing and returning musical instruments in good playing order in a timely and proficient manner. A technician can specialize in one type of musical instrument or work on multiple types of instruments.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on rental returned instruments in an efficient and timely manner ensuring each instrument is repaired according to established quality guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records for production reporting.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Apprenticeship or diploma from an accredited repair school is preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience repairing musical instruments on a daily basis.
  • Skilled understanding and function of one or all brass, woodwind, percussion and orchestral instruments.
  • Goal oriented.
  • Ability to repair instruments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to take advice and supervisor from the shop manager.
  • Problem solving and technical skills as related to diagnosing and repairing each instrument.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • Must be able to work with others in a close environment.
  • Ability to work in a Distribution Center environment subject to moderate temperature changes and noise.
  • Ability to work with or near chemicals and/or cleaning solvents.
  • Ability to stand, sit and walk throughout the Distribution Center for long periods of time and move, lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
