Infrastructure Engineer

The Infrastructure Engineer helps fulfill Sur La Table's business objectives by providing support for our IT infrastructure, leveraging an in-depth understanding of operating systems, applications, and hardware and to architect and implement robust and secure solutions as well as troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems. This position requires constant exercise of discretion and independent judgment and reports to the Sr Manager, Tech Ops & Security.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Configure, deploy, maintain server/network infrastructure as well as provide support to Application Analysts, Business Analysts and Project Managers.
Respond to escalations from Tier 1 support performing diagnosis of reported problems, identifying problem type and severity to facilitate appropriate response.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis. Upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Correct production problems by analyzing programs or systems to determine the cause and impact. Change system and applications to prevent problem recurrence, including altering incorrect configurations, and modifying existing configurations and schedules. May involve minor programming or scripting.
Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent problem recurrence.
Establish and maintain standard operating procedure documentation for applicable systems.
Assist in creating test plans and perform testing for system upgrades and modifications, including coordinating system maintenance with key business stakeholders.
Assist in administration of network equipment and applications.

Experience and Required Qualifications
The Infrastructure Engineer implements and maintains Sur La Table's Information Technology infrastructure, comprised of leading-edge technology from Microsoft, HP, Cisco, VMware, and Citrix. The Infrastructure Engineer requires the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT engineering, or equivalent experience.
2 - 4 years of progressive technical experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012 Operating Systems (note: soon to be Server 2016), including Windows AD administration, Server clustering, and Group Policy administration.
2 - 4 years of progressive technical experience with VMware ESXi. Administration, Citrix NetScalar Gateway, XenDesktop, Citrix SSLVPN.
2+ years of direct experience administering MS Exchange 2010 or higher.
Hands on experience with SAN technologies (NetAPP and HP 3PAR a plus).
Hands on experience with cloud services such as AWS/AWS Cloud, Azure/Azure Cloud, Rackspace, etc.
Experience with open source monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Cacti.
Proven ability to automate administrative tasks using Windows PowerShell, experience with Batch Scripts. Perl / Python / Bash a plus.
Familiarity with Linux Operating Systems, including AD/LDAP integration, system maintenance and troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work with limited supervision on small and medium sized projects.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as clear and effective writing ability primarily using MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). Familiarity with ticketing systems, collaborative documentation tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence).
Experience in retail and eCommerce environments a plus.
The ability to work independently and with teams.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
